Description
A magical fairy tale with a delightful Oriental coloring from the classic of French animation Michel Ocelot (“Kiriku and the Witch”).
Azur, a blond, blue-eyed boy is the son of a rich owner of a castle. The dark-eyed Asmar is a child of a poor Saracen, Jenane, Azur’s wet-nurse. As little children, the foster-brothers many a time heard from Jenane the story of a wonderful country on the other side of the Mediterranean, where the sun always shines and everything is permeated with the aroma of roses and jasmine. There, inside a black mountain, the Jinns’ Fairy is languishing in a crystal cage. For many years the Fairy has been waiting for a gallant prince who will find three magic keys, overpower a red lion with blue claws, conquer the Saymurkh bird, and thus free her.
With the years passing, Azur and Asmar grew up and set out on a journey, full of dangerous adventures, in order to find the Fairy of their dreams and marry her…
